How to maintain happy working relationships now flexible working is here to stay

Flexible and remote working is here to stay and it brings with it a mix of opportunities and challenges. It means saving time and money on commuting, being home to meet the kids from school and the flexibility to work at the times of day when you’re at your best. It also means that we miss out on the social part of working in an office, learning from others and bouncing ideas around. It can also be hard to know how colleagues are really doing if we can’t pick up on visual and non-verbal cues, if we can’t just casually say hello as we’re passing their desk or hear about what’s going on for them over a cuppa.

It’s often those casual conversations while we’re waiting for the kettle to boil, the small talk before a meeting starts or the conversations that we have in passing that build strong working relationships, foster collaboration, encourage learning, and spark creativity. These are the important connections that could easily be lost through flexible and remote working.

It’s harder to build relationships and know if others are doing OK online. Some people who’ve started roles in the last 6 months haven’t even met their colleagues in real life. Boundaries between home and work are easily blurred when your desk is the kitchen table. It’s harder to know how individuals are doing if you only see them on a screen. So how in a world of remote and flexible working can you ensure that your team and colleagues build and maintain strong working relationships? Because when people know, like and trust each other, that’s when the best work gets done.

Join Robin Fisk, founder at Donorfy, Lucy Hunter, Customer Success Manager at Donorfy, Helen Denny, founder at Not9to5 and Lucy Gower, founder at Lucidity and learn;

  • Practical tips for building and maintaining a healthy team culture that gets the important work done
  • How to build trust between yourself and your colleagues
  • How managing your energy is as important as managing your time
  • Strategies that can help you and your organisation work well in this new flexible and remote world.

Join us on Thursday 12 November, 6pm-8pm (UK time)
